DEVOTIONAL:

Jewelry. Clothing. Figurines. More Clothing. Crutches. Dishes. More Clothing.

Last week I peeked in an upstairs room at the church where items have been stored for our annual garage sale to benefit Relay for Life. The above description contains only a fraction of the goodies that await their new homes. Not only does the church have an opportunity to clean out their closets, but they also do so for a good cause. Relay for Life raises money for the American Cancer Society, an organization that works as tirelessly as church volunteers to find a cure for cancer. For the third year, the Amazing Grace team has joined the quest for a cure with fundraising efforts. To learn more about the organization, click here

As I walked down the stairs, I entered another room at the church filled with boxes of health kits that will go to Haiti for recovery efforts. Upstairs & downstairs, outreach abounds at Grace Church. Paul writes in I Corinthians 12:12-31a about being the body of Christ. It is a joy to serve as the hands and feet to help those in need and to work for justice in the world.

Take time today to read this familiar passage and ask yourself:
1. Which part of the body of Christ am I as a person?
2. Which part of the body of Christ is my church?
3. How can we serve with the rest of the body throughout the world?

In grace & gratitude,
Pastor Darian
