Earlier today, I heard this arrangement of Rich Mullins' beautiful prayer, "Hold Me Jesus." A repeated petition is, "Be my Prince of Peace." On this Veteran's Day, we recall that war often seems to outweigh peace in our world. Conflict seems to overshadow harmony. These words remind us that peace is indeed available when we look to the one who is Peace.
We give thanks today for those who have served our country with courage and fortitude. May God's love enfold each of them, and all of us, as we pray for a day "when nation shall no longer lift up sword against nation" (Isaiah 2:4)
