As storms wreaked havoc across the southern US yesterday, many suffered loss of homes, security, and tragically some lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with these families for rebuilding and restoration. The Easter season is supposed to be one of joy and celebration, but such tragedies take us right back to Good Friday. It is in times like these that one word is all we have, and it's the most vital of the Easter season:

That word is hope.

Dr. Jerome Groopman wrote in The Anatomy of Hope: "Hope gives us the courage to confront our circumstances and the capacity to surmount them." * Cling to the power of hope in whatever your circumstances may be. Christ, in his resurrection, gave us the power of eternal hope. No matter how dire the circumstance, cling to hope, for it is indeed the anchor in a turbulent world.

the grace of Easter to each of you,
Pastor Darian
